The Karmann Ghia was first introduced in 1955 and was quite a sensation. It was a little coupe that looked like something right out of the concept car show hall. With its thin roofline and overall profile it was reminiscent of the Porsche 356 in many ways. It was stylish with a fashionable interior. It had solid German engineering. The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was the more expensive and luxurious passenger car than the VW Beetle that was extremely popular during this period in the 1960s.
