1979 Toyota FJ40

An uncommon original for a rugged scene

The FJ40’s predecessor, the BJ25, was Japan’s answer to the American Jeep or the British Land Rover. It was introduced in1955. Toyota reverse-engineered the Jeep and perfected it within a decade establishing Toyota as a global brand. The FJ improved, but still managed to maintain its now iconic look and feel.

The FJ40, is a series of Land Cruisers made from 1960 until 2001. Most were built as 2-door models with slightly larger dimensions than the similar Jeep CJ. They formed the backbone of the Toyota brand and became the world’s first experience with Toyota. The FJ was quickly spread worldwide as a fantastic method of transporting people or cargo in places that didn’t have well-maintained roads (or any at all!)

The 1979 Toyota FJ40 is not a common vehicle to find in the U.S. We have an original sky blue model with a white top. Sometimes when you need or just want something different for your photoshoot or production – this is it!
